WELCOME RECEPTION AT QUINTA MONTES MOLINA
Enjoy a spectacular welcome reception at QUINTA MONTES MOLINA, a stately 20th Century mansion set among beautiful gardens, a unique backdrop for this opening event in the best Mexican style.
Located on Av. Paseo Montejo –just a short distance from Hotel Fiesta Americana (Congress venue) and other major hotels, shopping centers and financial services- this palace represents the era of President Porfirio Díaz and the golden age of sisal plantations in Yucatán.
Since this was always a home, it preserves furniture from different eras and is full of details that help better understand the customs of the families of noble descent in Mérida in the early 20th century.

Host of the XXVI LATIN AMERICAN CONGRESS OF PORTS 2017
Get ready to enjoy a great Uruguayan-style cocktail party in the terrace of the Fiesta Americana Hotel, from where we will have an incomparable panoramic view of the city of Merida, to present the venue for the 2017 Latin American Congress of Ports.
During this night, which will be full of surprises from that eastern country, we will enjoy the best of its cuisine, know part of its culture and start to envision next year’s edition that will take place in the city of Punta del Este, also known as the South American Saint-Tropez for its beautiful beaches, its sophisticated resorts and the cosmopolitan air of its many visitors.

CLOSING DINNER AT HACIENDA DZIBIKAK
Whoever wants to be transported to the golden age of Yucatán can do so this evening, at the centenarian Hacienda only 20 Km from the historical center of Mérida. The entrance is located on the east side, right next to the majestic chimney.
Dzibikak, from a Mayan word that means “written with fire,” shines again thanks to its special style: a classic colonial atmosphere with abundant, good-taste details...
This will be an unforgettable evening, full of surprises, where we will enjoy the local cuisine from the hands of one of the most outstanding chefs in the region, and a special show to commemorate the Silver Anniversary of the Latin American Congress of Ports.

VISIT TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF CHICHÉN ITZÁ
Chichén Itzá is, no doubt, the most famous Mayan city in the world. More than one million visitors come each year, making it the second most visited archaeological site in Mexico, after the Teotihuacan pyramids. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, it later became one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World in 2007 through an international selection process organized by New World Corporation, and with the participation of over one hundred million voters.
Chichen Itzá is the best example of the migratory movements that shook up Mesoamerica in the Early Postclassical period, reflecting material cultural traits from the Mayan area and from central Mexico, particularly the Tolteca connection. Chichen Itzá is famous worldwide for the interaction between light and shade each Equinox on the flight of stairs at the base of the pyramid known as El Castillo (The Castle).

- Located 2 hours from the city of Mérida.
- The tour of the site lasts approximately 2 hours, visiting the most outstanding elements.
- Lunch will be at the restaurant of the Hotel Mayaland & Bungalows, inside the archaeological area.
